A Role Rooted in Innovation

Niveditha is currently working as a Software Engineer/Machine Learning Intern, contributing to the optimization of rooftop viability assessments for solar panel installations. Her work is instrumental in reducing manual effort and improving accuracy, directly supporting SolBid’s goal of streamlining solar adoption for commercial clients.

Her responsibilities include:

• Leveraging advanced machine learning models to detect and classify objects.
• Identifying rooftop utility obstacles.
• Cleaning and preprocessing image data to improve model accuracy.
• Annotating images for supervised learning tasks and generating high-quality training datasets.

A Strong Technical Foundation

Before joining SolBid, Niveditha gained valuable industry experience as a Software Quality Engineer at Aurigo Software Technologies in Bangalore, India. From January 2020 to July 2023, she specialized in Agile and Scrum methodologies, manual and automation testing, and worked with tools such as Azure DevOps and Microsoft SQL Server. Her expertise in software quality assurance laid a strong foundation for her transition into machine learning and data science.

Academically, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Instrumentation from R.V. College of Engineering, where she explored projects in IoT, artificial intelligence, and automation. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s in Data Science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, maintaining a stellar 4.0 CGPA while deepening her knowledge in machine learning, statistics, and big data analysis.

Niveditha first discovered SolBid through a senior connection and also came across the company through MassCEC. The opportunity to work on impactful renewable energy solutions, apply her academic learning to real-world challenges, and collaborate in an innovation-driven environment made SolBid the perfect fit.

Beyond work, she is committed to sustainable living by conserving energy at home, using efficient appliances, and minimizing power consumption.

A Favorite Challenge

One of Niveditha’s favorite projects has been refining machine learning models and fine-tuning their performance. Seeing the tangible impact of her optimizations and their contributions to SolBid’s mission has been a fulfilling experience.

Work-Life Balance and Personal Interests

To maintain a healthy work-life balance, Niveditha prioritizes time management and mindfulness. She takes breaks, ensures a healthy diet, and separates work from personal time to stay focused and refreshed.

Outside of work, she enjoys dancing and painting. “Dancing helps me stay active and express myself creatively, while painting is a relaxing way to unwind and explore my artistic side,” she says. Both hobbies serve as an essential creative outlet and complement her technical work.
